He was growing into middle age and
was living then in a bungalow on
Woodland Avenue.
He installed himself in a rocking
chair and smoked a cigar down in
the evening as his wife wiped her
pink hands on an apron and
reported happily on their two
children. His children knew his
legs, the sting of his mustache
against their cheeks. They didn’t
know how their father made his
living, or why they so often moved.
They didn’t even know their
father’s name.
He was listed in the city directory
as Thomas Howard, and he went
everywhere unrecognized
and lunched with Kansas City
shopkeepers and merchants, calling
himself a cattleman or commodities
investor, someone rich and
leisured who had the common touch.
He had two incompletely healed
bullet holes in his chest and
another in his thigh. He was
missing the nub of his left middle
finger and was cautious lest that
mutilation be seen.
He also had a condition that was
referred to as granulated eyelids
and it caused him to blink more
than usual, as if he found creation
slightly more than he could accept.
Rooms seemed hotter when he was in
them. Rains fell straighter. Clocks slowed.
Sounds were amplified.
He considered himself a Southern
loyalist and guerrilla in a Civil
War that never ended. He
regretted neither his robberies
nor the seventeen murders that he
laid claim to. He had seen another summer
under in Kansas City, Missouri, and on
September fifth, in the year 1881,
he was thirty-four years old.

Texts from the last few rehearsals

Just found this as i was logging on : http://news.uk.msn.com/in-pictures/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=150161883, it just caught my eye and i like some of the images. It's basically just an article about failed assassinations of world leaders, thought the section on hitler was quite interesting.
My assassination story- Death by Bath Bomb:
Hi, you probably don’t know who I am and I’m not going to bore you with my life story, I’m sure you’ll know about me soon enough. The thing is, on june 25th it will be my 21st birthday, some would say a pivotal moment in life. On that day I will also be attending probably one of the most highly anticipated parties of the year....no not mine, I am unfortunately not that famous, but I won’t name names, just in case people find this.
Here is a little Background information, lining the shelves of my bedroom wall are, I dunno about 35 dvd’s. All of which bear the perfectly flawless face of a certain celebrity. Under my bed is a pile of magazines, last time I counted I had 72, again all of which bear that same face. Some people would say I was obsessed. I disagree, it sounds too positive, it suggests that I like her....want to be her. I used to be a fan of hers...not sure why when I come to think of it, she’s pretty but that’s all she has going for her, I think maybe even I act better than her. But anyway, I one waited for her outside the hotel where she was staying, in the pouring rain, no umbrella for 5 hours. And she just ignored me. From that moment, all of my admiration for her died, and ironically, since then I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. So I plan to recreate that little moments, roles reversed and a little more literally. The story goes like this.
My brother in law runs his own company, providing technological and media equipment, or something like that. He’s done tours for people like U2 and Sugababes. He was also hired to set up the entertainment equipment for my target. It turns out she’s having one of her many parties in the presidential suite of a London hotel. A London hotel that I now happen to be working at over the summer, and with it being my birthday on that day, I pleaded to work the morning and afternoon shift, so I could have the night off, meaning that I will get to prepare a certain someone’s bath. You know those bath bomb things you get which fizz in the bath to make it smell nice, well I sort of modified one so it contains a certain deadly chemical. However, I get searched before entering certain rooms, therefore I plan to anonymously send a birthday package few days before and then play the role of the innocent maid who thought it would be nice to use the gift to make her bath extra special. How could anyone suspect me, I was only doing my job, using my initiative. Simple.

My text inspired by the final scenes 'The Assassination of Jesse James':
At my lowest point I often wonder what it would be like to visit the families of the people I have killed. The Johnson family. Mr Davenport. Mrs Newbury and her three young children. I imagine the piercing look they would give me upon the revelation that it was me standing on the other side of their front door. It will be the same look that I gave to their son, their father, or their wife. I imagine stepping into their shoes, knowing how it feels to face pure hatred.
It is only to myself that I speak about the horrors of my past. I trust no one else. I speak of things that I didn’t know I knew. I try to replay the shootings over and over, trying to recall every last detail. The ticking of the clock, the colour of the door, the creak of the floorboard. The sound of the gunshot. But I cannot remember. My brain doesn’t let me.
I am ashamed of the joy that I felt and my inability to forgive. I am sorry about my cold-bloodedness, my blind passion and rage. I truly regret killing them, I miss them as much as anybody and wished their deaths hadn’t been necessary.
I know that the smiles disappear from people’s faces as I pass them by. I know that people only tell me what they think I want to hear. I am not afraid of the truth. I know the truth and have accepted what I have done.
I read the threatening letters that are sent to me. I read them with eyes that remain glazed over, as if unaware of the world around me, unaware of the fear I have instilled and the chaos I have created. But they only invoke a certain curiosity in me. A need for knowing.
I spend my days staring at the walls to which I am confined. I trace my life through the brickwork. I look for the flaws, the uneven indentations in the concrete, the irregular brush strokes. I imagine that they somehow represent my life. That this room was built for me and me alone. That I will be it’s only inhabitant.
I know what is destined for me. I will suffer the same fate as my victims. I know the process well enough to see that the end of my life is just around the corner. He will come for me tonight of his own free will, with no thought on his mind but to kill the one who tore his life apart. No one will try to stop him. Not even me. No one will want to visit the scene of the crime. There will be no eulogy written about my life. No one will parade my body through the streets in mourning. Only a priest will attend my funeral. The trigger will be pulled and I will lie still on the floor, my eyes fixated on the walls, trying to find the crack that represents the end. The light will fade slowly from my eyes and I will have nothing left to say.

A former army sergeant supplied feuding gangs with assassination kits and other weapons linked to a murder, four attempted murders and an armed robbery.
Paul Alexander, 53, charged £1,500 for the kits, which came in hard, plastic cases similar to those for DIY power tools. Each contained a handgun, silencer and three or four magazines with up to eleven rounds in them. Detectives believe that guns he sold in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and the East Midlands will be linked to crimes for years to come.
After leaving the Army in 1992, where he had an exemplary record with the Royal Artillery, Alexander visited South America, Canada, the US, Pakistan and Europe using some 33 aliases. These included fictional surnames such as Bauer, from the television series 24, and Bourne, from the Matt Damon films. He also changed his surname by deed poll to Hunter-Mann. Born Paul Daintry in Bury, Lancashire, he was identified during the investigation into the 2007 murder of Rhys Jones, the Liverpool schoolboy shot by a gang member, Sean Mercer. Police seized several firearms which had traces of Alexander’s DNA, though it took until September last year for officers to track him to a remote rented property at Bardfield Saling, Essex.
He was arrested in a joint operation between the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) and Essex Police in which 28 guns and rifles were recovered. The barn where he worked contained 12,000 gun parts and he had 26 guns on order.

Mick Layton, the Soca deputy director, said: “The guns and ammunition supplied by Paul Alexander are being linked to numerous shootings in the UK. Put simply, he was dealing in death.”
Alexander bought imitation and antique guns and converted them at his property. He took on the home with a £9,000 deposit in cash and paid £3,800 a month to stay there despite having had no proper job since leaving the Army.
Officers found that between March 2007 and his arrest almost £130,000 in cash was deposited into accounts belonging to him, his wife and a stepdaughter.
At Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday Alexander admitted charges including possessing a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life and converting an imitation firearm. He will be sentenced in November after psychiatric reports and faces life.
The killing kits
• From the outside the hard plastic cases looked as if they held DIY tools, but they were filled with everything that a killer would need to commit murder
• Paul Alexander would drive to the North West to deliver them to rival gangs in Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, picking up £1,500 for each pack: a gun, silencer and ammunition
• Each component was packaged in foam, below, to protect it during transport.
• At Alexander’s gun factory police found filled cases and rifles stacked against a wall
• Mick Layton, deputy director of the Serious Organised Crime Agency, said that the investigation had provided valuable intelligence: “Our message to Alexander’s criminal associates is stark — be worried, this hasn’t ended here”

THE HANDBOOK OF ASSASSINATION
v1.0
11. October 2002
by Acidous
01. Disclaimer
--------------
Acidous take no responcibility for what actions this handbook
or any of the content of it may cause. Acidous will not take
the blame for anything you do after reading this handbook.
Everything you do is done by yourself, and can not be
forced upon Acidous or any other individual but yourself.
Be aware of that Acidous do NOT encourage to such actions
which is dealt with in this book.
And yes, it really is written assassin(check your vocabulary).
02. Assassins Equipment
------------------------
Of course the assassinator need equipment. An assassination
is not to be performed with purely raw strength and
brutality. You are supposed to stay in the shadows,
where no one can see you. A good assassin will never be
seen, only heard of in the aftermath.
But anyway, here's the equipment you will need the most.
Sniper-rifle
A sniper rifle is the number one weapon of the professional

distances, something which gives you time to get away
before guards, security, etc. arrives.
The drawback of the sniper-rifle is that it is not good
for assassinating target which are inside a structure or
vehicle of any kind.
Piano-wire
This is prima for sneak-up attacks. You sneak up behind
the target, swiftly put it over his head and pull back
really hard. It will cut his artery and his breathing
pipe.
Silenced Pistol
The silenced pistol is good for low range assassinations.
But it has limitations concerning range and accuracy,
which is one of the reasons I choose the sniper-rifle
unless I am forced to use the pistol.
Ninja Sword
For close-quarters combat. The ninja sword is pretty
much unmatched within close-quarters combat. It's
incredible sharpness and lightness makes it the
perfect weapon for taking out an opponent in
non-projectile combat.
Camouflage
Using the right camouflage is very important. One of your
objectives is to avoid being detected. That is the reason
you must use camouflage.
03. Making Some Equipment
-------------------------
Of course, the assassins equipment isn't very easy to make,
due to the high quality you will need to perform a clean

Fit each end of the piano-wire to each handle.
You now have yourself a piano-wire which will not
hurt you when you use it.
04. Assassins Training
----------------------
If you are not willing to train hard and long to become an
assassin, then I suggest you quit now. You can never
become a good assassin without training.
Building Muscles
Do push-ups, a lot of them. This will strengthen your arms
and make you much more capable of defending yourself
in a crisis situation.
Start running/jogging to make your legs stronger.
In a getaway situation, you might need to run fast
and over a longer distance.
Do sit-ups to strengthen your stomach. If hit in the

then the attacker will get more hurt than you.
Never overdo the training. You must not look like a

Martial Arts

Karate is not one of the martial arts you need to learn
at first. Start in the direction of Taekwondo, which
is much better for defending yourself than Karate.
Try to only move on to the next martial art if you feel
that you master the one you are doing enough to take on
a person twice your size.
Picking Locks
Practice picking the locks at your home. Start with easy
ones, then move on to the harder locks. Read manuals
on lock picking.
Electronics & Alarms
Study electronics, find out how different alarms work
and how you can bypass, reprogram or destroy them.
Also study how you can make other electronical items
to go mad.
Weapons Handling
You must learn how to use your weapons the best way.
Train in the ways of a ninja with the sword. Train
target practice on both still and moving targets with
both the gun and the sniper-rifle. Never hesitate on
how to use your weapon, your life may be at stake.
05. The Planning
----------------
Always plan your assasination well. If you do not plan
it, the more likely is it that you will fail.
* Get maps/blueprints over the area you are going into.
* Check out possible positions you may take.
* Check the guarding and when they change guards.
* ALWAYS check for cameras.
* Always plan at least two(2) escape routes.
Try to always plan a position so that you may use your
sniper-rifle with a silencer. Of course you don't have
to use a silencer, but it makes it harder for the guards
and security to discover you.
06. The Assassination
---------------------
The assassination in itself could be over in a matter
of minutes, or it could be for hours. You need to find
the right time, so that you get a perfectly clear shot.
You should always aim either for the heart or head,
both of these are deadly kills. This is were the weapons
training come in. You only have one(1) chance of taking
your target out. When using the sniper-rifle, fire one
deadly shot, then pull out. You must never give yourself
the time to reload and fire a new shot, it will only reveal
your position, and you will get caught. That is also the
rule for every other weapon you may use.
So, the rules that you MUST follow are:
* Aim only for one-shot deadly spots.
* Never fire more than one shot.
* Never shot the guards/security.
* Always wear camouflage.
* Always know what to do, never hesitate.
These rules are the GROUND rules, the rules you must follow.
If you do not follow these rules, then the possibility for
you to get caught doubles for every mistake you do.
Fire one(1) shot and there is a 15% chance for them spotting
you, fire two(2) shots and theres a 67% chance for them to
spot you, fire three(3) shots and theres a 91% chance for them
to spot you. Always be short and work fast, otherwise you might
be the victim too.
07. Various Ways To Assassinate
-------------------------------
There are many different ways for you to assassinate your target.
There are never only one(1) way to do it.
Sniping
Sniping is the far most safe way to assassinate someone.
You lie on a roof-top or the like and take out the person
you wish to/get paid to assassinate.
Car-Bomb
The car bomb makes it much easier for people to track you down.
Peoples eyes are everywhere, and if their eyes arent, then theres
cameras. Someone could have seen you rig your targets car and they
could perhaps also give a positive ID on you.
Poison
This one is also rather risky. You slip some poison into their food.
You could pretend to be a waiter og a chef when putting it in. But
there is a possibility you might put it in someone elses food and
kill them instead, something which is not very good. You should
also use a poison which is hard to discover from the blood, or
one which selfdestructs after killing the victim.
11. Word From The Author
------------------------
This handbook was written purely for educational purposes, and is not
intended for readers below the age of 18.
But after all, I don't care how old the readers are, and that is because
this book is put on the internet, and I do not care wether you read it
or not. IF the instructions in this book is followed, it may cause
in the serious fellony of making you an professional assassin, if you are
dedicated enough that is, and it also may cause you to make alot of
money, but there of course is the risk of getting caught or killed.
Remember the old saying: "There is always someone better".
Feel free to send me an e-mail if you have something which you think
should be added to the next release of the handbook, or if you

Atlas

Hello all

Good to meet you yesterday. Thanks for a productive session and I hope you found it interesting.

Really excited about where we go from here with the project. It would be great if you could meet up at least twice a week as a whole group and work in your focus groups for the rest of the week. Part of this experience is how you find ways and time to work together.

When I worked with Phil Stanier and the Strange Names Collective we drew up an Atlas of references to look at. I thought we could build one together for you to bear in mind over the next three weeks. Below is a list of suggestions of films, books, places and music.

Good luck and keep blogging. I will keep an eye on the process.

All best

Sarah Hanson reasearch

Alexander Litvinenko was a Russian KGB agent, turned dissident and possible MI6 agent. On November 1st 2006, Litvinenko fell ill after eating at the London sushi restaurant Itsu. He had been receiving evidence about another murder while he was eating at the restaurant. On November 3rd, Litvinenko’s condition deteriorated and he was rushed to Barnet General Hospital in London. He died three weeks after his hospitalisation suffering from acute radiation syndrome spawned from exposure to the radioactive polonium-210. The incident gained huge worldwide media coverage, probably due to the similarities in the case to Hollywood spy movies. It is now accepted that Litvinenko was poisoned by a cup of tea in his hotel room. No one has been convicted of the murder; however, there are suspicions of Russian government involvement. Litvinenko died aged 44.

Obituary: Alexander Litvinenko
Mr Litvinenko was renowned for his critique of Russia's security services
Alexander Litvinenko, a former Russian security officer who has died in a London hospital after apparently being poisoned, was a fierce critic of Russia's government.
Born in the Russian city of Voronezh, Mr Litvinenko first became a security agent in the FSB's predecessor, the Soviet-era KGB, after transferring from the military. He rose to the rank of lieutenant-colonel.
He is reported to have fallen out with Russian President Vladimir Putin, then head of the FSB, in the late 1990s, after failing to crack down on corruption within the organisation.
The nature of his job, as a specialist in fighting organised crime, meant he would certainly have made enemies.
Murder investigation
Intelligence analyst Glenmore Trenear Harvey said of his friend: "He headed up one of the internal investigations branches that was looking into the corruption and coercion that was going on within the Russian intelligence service so he made a lot of enemies way back then."
Mr Harvey points to links between renegade former KGB officers and the Russian mafia.
Mr Litvinenko is thought to have been close to journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was shot dead last month in Moscow, and said recently he was investigating her murder.
She was another opponent of the Kremlin, and particularly the war in Chechnya.
Mr Harvey said Ms Politkovskaya was carrying out investigations into corruption and it was likely Mr Litvinenko would have been privy to those inquiries.
I believe Russia will rise again and that I will manage to return again to the motherland and Moscow
Alexander Litvinenko
It was after being handed documents relating to the murder of Ms Politkovskaya that he was taken ill more than three weeks ago, he said.
Mr Litvinenko wrote a book in which he alleged Federal Security Service (FSB) agents in Russia coordinated the 1999 apartment block bombings in the country that killed more than 300 people.
The Russian government has always maintained the blasts were the work of Chechen separatists.
Arrest
In 1998, Mr Litvinenko first came to prominence by exposing an alleged plot to assassinate the then powerful tycoon Boris Berezovsky, who himself now lives in self-imposed exile in the UK.
Mr Litvinenko was subsequently arrested on charges of abusing his office, and spent nine months in a remand centre before being acquitted.
Later he wrote Blowing up Russia: Terror from Within, in which he said that it was FSB agents and not Chechen rebels who carried out the apartment block bombings.
The attacks helped swing public opinion behind Russia's second war in the breakaway Chechen republic, which began with a huge Russian military offensive later that year.
Petrol bombs
Complaining of persecution, in 2000 Mr Litvinenko fled to the UK where he sought, and was granted, asylum.
But after settling in an unnamed London suburb, the former spy - who had a wife and teenage son - continued to behave as if on the run, constantly changing his contact details.
Well aware of the methods of those who work in the shadowy intelligence underworld, he met contacts at busy, public locations.
The Times newspaper reported in May 2005 that someone had tried to push a pram loaded with petrol bombs through his front door.
Despite all this, in an interview four years ago, Mr Litvinenko said: "I believe Russia will rise again and that I will manage to return again to the motherland and Moscow."
Allegations
Appearing alongside high-profile opponents of Mr Putin, Mr Litvinenko continued to make allegations about his former bosses.
Perhaps most notably, he alleged that al-Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri was trained by the FSB in Dagestan in the years before the 9/11 attacks.

He also denounced the war in Chechnya as a crime, called for Russian troops to be withdrawn, and said compensation should be paid to Chechens.
One of his friends - and one of a number of Russian exiles now settled in Britain - is Akhmed Zakayev, a former Chechen commander living under asylum in London.
The two men lived on the same street in London, it has been reported.
In the past, Russia has asked Britain to stop exiles such as Mr Berezovsky and Mr Zakayev making what it calls "slanderous statements" about the Russian regime.
Russia has repeatedly sought their extradition.

Angela Ennis- Malcom X assassination, articles from the New York Times and Newsweek

On February 21, 1965, the black leader Malcolm X was assassinated as he started to address a rally in New York City. Malcolm X was a controversial figure. He had spent time in jail as a street criminal. As spokesman for Elijah Mohammed's Nation of Islam, he articulated a virulently antiwhite program of black self-help. After a trip to Mecca, he broke with Elijah Mohammed and his antiwhite policies to form an independent political group expressing both national and international concerns.

Malcolm X, the 39-year-old leader of a militant black nationalist movement, was shot to death yesterday afternoon at a rally of his followers in a ballroom in Washington Heights.
Shortly before midnight, a 22-year-old Negro, Thomas Hagan, was charged with the killing. The police rescued him from the ballroom crowd after he has been shot and beaten.
Malcolm, a bearded extremist, had said only a few words of greeting when a fusillade rang out. The bullets knocked him over backward.
Pandemonium broke out among the 400 Negroes in the Audubon Ballroom at 166th Street and Broadway. As men, women and children ducked under tables and flattened themselves on the floor, more shots were fired. Some witnesses said 30 shots had been fired.
The police said seven bullets had struck Malcolm. Three other Negroes were shot.
About two hours later the police said the shooting had apparently been a result of a feud between followers of Malcolm and members of the extremist group he broke with last year, the Black Muslims. However, the police declined to say whether Hagan is a Muslim.
The Medical Examiner's office said early this morning that a preliminary autopsy showed Malcolm had died of “multiple gunshot wounds.” The office said that bullets of two different calibers as well as shotgun pellets had been removed from his body.
One police theory was that as many as five conspirators might have been involved, two creating a diversionary disturbance.
Hagan was shot in the left thigh and his left leg was broken, apparently by kicks. He was under treatment in the Bellevue Hospital prison ward last night; perhaps a dozen policemen were guarding him, according to the hospital's night erintendent. The police said they had found a cartridge case with four unused .45-caliber shells in his pocket.
Two other Negroes, described as “apparent spectators” by Assistant Chief Inspector Harry Taylor, in command of Manhattan North uniformed police, also were shot. They were identified as William Harris, wounded seriously in the abdomen, and William Parker, shot in a foot. Both were taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, which is close to the ballroom.
Capt. Paul Glaser of the Police Department's Community Relations Bureau said early today that Hagan, using a double-barrelled shotgun with shortened barrels and stock, had killed Malcolm X.
Malcolm, a slim, reddish-haired six-footer with a gift for bitter eloquence against what he considered white exploitation of Negroes, broke in March, 1964, with the Black Muslim movement called the Nation of Islam, headed by Elijah Muhammad . . . .

B: from Newsweek
He was born Malcolm Little, an Omaha Negro preacher's son. Before he was out of his teens, he was Big Red, a Harlem hipster trafficking in numbers, narcotics, sex, and petty crime. He was buried as Al Hajj Malik Shabazz, a spiritual desperado lost between the peace of Islam and the pain of blackness. His whole life was a series of provisional identities, and he was still looking for the last when, as Malcolm X, 39, apostate Black Muslim and mercurial black nationalist, he was gunned to death by black men last week in a dingy uptown New York ballroom.
He had seen the end coming?predicted it, in fact, so long and so loudly that people had stopped listening. Malcolm X had always been an extravagant talker, a demagogue who titillated slum Negroes and frightened whites with his blazing racist attacks on the “white devils” and his calls for an armed American Mau Mau. His own flamboyant past made it easy to disregard his dire warnings that he had been marked for murder by the Muslims, the anti-white, anti- integrationist Negro sect he had served so devoutly for a dozen years and fought so bitterly since his defection a year ago.
His assassination turned out to be one of his few entirely accurate prophecies. Its fulfillment triggered an ominous vendetta between the Malcolmites and the Muslims?ominous in its intensity even though it was isolated on the outermost extremist fringe of American Negro life.
Death came moments after Malcolm stepped up to a flimsy plywood lectern in Manhattan's Audubon Ballroom, just north of Harlem, to address 400 of the faithful and the curious at a Sunday afternoon rally of his fledgling Organization of Afro-American Unity. The extermination plot was clever in conception, swift and smooth in execution. Two men popped to their feet in the front rows of wooden folding chairs, one yelling at the other: “Get your hands off my pockets, don't be messing with my pockets.” Four of Malcolm's six bodyguards moved toward the pair; Malcolm himself chided, “Let's cool it.”
Volley: Then came a second diversion: a man's sock, soaked in lighter fluid and set ablaze, flared in the rear. Heads swiveled, and as they did, a dark, muscular man moved toward the lectern in a crouch, a sawed-off shotgun wrapped in his coat. Blam-blam! A double-barreled charge ripped up through the lectern and into Malcolm's chest. From the left, near the spot where the two men had been squabbling, came a back-up volley of pistol fire.
Malcolm tumbled backward, his lean body rent by a dozen wounds, his heels hooked over a fallen chair. The hall was bedlam. Malcolm's pregnant wife, Betty, rushed on stage screaming, “They're killing my husband!” His retainers fired wildly through the crowd at the fleeing killers. Four assailants made it to side doors and disappeared.
The man with the shotgun, identified by police as 22-year-old Talmadge Hayer of Paterson, N.J., dashed down a side aisle to the stairway exit from the second floor ballroom. From the landing, one of Malcolm's bodyguards winged him in the thigh with a .45-caliber slug. Howling in pursuit (“Kill the bastard!”), the ballroom crowd caught Hayer on the sidewalk, mauled him, and broke his ankle before police rescued him.
Hayer was charged with homicide. Five days later, police picked up a karate-trained Muslim “enforcer,” Norman 3X Butler, 26, as suspect No. 2.
The arrest of a Muslim surprised almost no one. For all his many enemies, Malcolm himself had insisted to the end that it was the Muslims who wanted him dead. They seemed to dog him everywhere he went; a bare week before his death, he was firebombed out of his Queens home, the ownership of which he had been disputing with the Muslims. Increasingly edgy, he moved with his wife and four children first to Harlem's Hotel Theresa, finally?the night before his death?to the New York Hilton in the alien world downtown. When he died, Manhattan police assumed that Muslims were involved.

1980: John Lennon shot deadFormer Beatle John Lennon has been shot dead by an unknown gunman who opened fire outside the musician's New York apartment.
The 40-year-old was shot several times as he entered the Dakota, his luxury apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side, opposite Central Park, at 2300 local time.
He was rushed in a police car to St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, where he died.
His wife, Yoko Ono, who is understood to have witnessed the attack, was with him.
Shots heard
A police spokesman said a suspect was in custody, but he had no other details of the shooting.
"This was no robbery," the spokesman said, adding that Mr Lennon was probably shot by a "deranged" person.
Witness reports say at least three shots were fired and others have claimed they heard six.
There are also reports Mr Lennon staggered up six steps into the vestibule after he was shot, before collapsing.
Jack Douglas, Lennon's producer, said he and the Lennons had been at a studio called the Record Plant in mid-town earlier in the evening and Lennon left at 2230.
Mr Lennon said he planned to have some dinner and then return home, Mr Douglas said.
Fans at scene
The Lennons are said to have left their limousine on the street and walked up the driveway when the gunman opened fire.
It is unclear whether the man had been lying in wait in the entrance to the building for Mr Lennon, or whether he came up behind him.
Witnesses describe the gunman as a "pudgy kind of man", 35 to 40 years old with brown hair.
Other former band members, Paul McCartney, guitarist George Harrison and drummer Ringo Starr are thought to have been informed of Lennon's murder.
Fans have already begun arriving at the scene, many still unaware Lennon has died.
Mr Lennon is survived by his wife, their son Sean, and his son from a previous marriage, Julian.
As Lennon and Ono walked to their limousine, they were approached by several people seeking autographs, among them Chapman.[6] He silently handed Lennon a copy of Double Fantasy, and Lennon obliged with an autograph.[6] After signing the album Lennon asked him, "Is this all you want?" Chapman nodded in agreement. Photographer and Lennon fan Paul Goresh snapped a photo of the event. [7]
The Lennons spent several hours at the Record Plant studio before returning to the Dakota at about 10:50 p.m. Lennon decided against eating out so he could be home in time to say goodnight to five-year-old son Sean before he went to sleep. They exited their limousine on 72nd Street, even though the car could have been driven into the more secure courtyard.[8]

Police artist's drawing of the murder
The Dakota's doorman, Jose Perdomo, and a cab driver saw Chapman standing in the shadows by the archway.[9] Ono walked ahead of Lennon and into the reception area. As Lennon passed by, Chapman fired five hollow-point bullets at Lennon from a Charter Arms .38 Special revolver.[1] There was an isolated radio and newspaper claim at the time that, before firing, Chapman called out "Mr. Lennon" and dropped into a "combat stance",[10] but this is not stated in court hearings or witness interviews. Chapman has said he did not remember calling out Lennon's name before he shot him.[11] One shot missed, passing over Lennon's head and hitting a window of the Dakota building. However, two shots struck Lennon in the left side of his back and two more penetrated his left shoulder. All four bullets inflicted severe gunshot wounds, with at least one of them piercing Lennon's aorta.[12] Lennon staggered up five steps to the security/reception area, said, "I'm shot," and collapsed. Concierge Jay Hastings covered Lennon with his uniform, and removed his glasses; he then summoned the police. Outside, doorman Perdomo shook the gun out of Chapman's hand then kicked it across the sidewalk.[9] Chapman then removed his coat and hat in preparation for the police arrival to show he was not carrying any concealed weapons and sat down on the sidewalk. Doorman Perdomo shouted at Chapman, "Do you know what you've done?", to which Chapman calmly replied, "Yes, I just shot John Lennon." The first policemen to arrive were Steve Spiro and Peter Cullen, who were at 72nd Street and Broadway when they heard a report of shots fired at the Dakota. The officers found Chapman sitting "very calmly" on the sidewalk. They reported that Chapman had dropped the revolver to the ground, and was holding a paperback book, J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye.[13] Chapman had scribbled a message on the book's inside front cover: "To Holden Caulfield. From Holden Caulfield. This is my statement." He would later claim that his life mirrored that of Holden Caulfield, the main protagonist of the book.
The second team, Officers Bill Gamble and James Moran, arrived a few minutes later. They immediately carried Lennon into their squad car and rushed him to Roosevelt Hospital. Officer Moran said they placed Lennon on the back seat.[14] Moran asked, "Do you know who you are?" There are conflicting accounts on what happened next. In one account, Lennon nodded slightly and tried to speak, but could only manage to make a gurgling sound, and lost consciousness shortly thereafter.[15]

The assination of Kurt Cobain?

Kurt Cobain Death

On April 8 1994 at 8.40 AM, an electrician who came to check the electrical network from a luxury villa in Seattle found the lifeless body of Kurt Cobain. A bullet in the head appears to have killed him. Near the body was found a box of drugs, burnt spoons and also syringes. A rifle was found on his chest along with a “goodbye note” in the room. Is this a clear case of suicide? According to local law enforcement it was. However, for conspiracy theory advocates they were hard to be satisfied with the superficial investigations of the Seattle Police and the frenzy that ensured with the media announcing the premature death of Cobain.

At 27, singer and composer of the band Nirvana, Cobain was not just a rock star acclaimed at international level. He was also the idol of many representatives of “Generation X”. Fans do not see him like any other star; for them he was a leader and hero. The funerals turned Seattle into a transit city and similar suicides were recorded all over the world. Cobain died when he was on top of success. His music was heard and excited millions of people worldwide. This incredible success brought him the unwanted status of being the spokesman for a whole generation and the grunge rock movement.

For Kurt Cobain, punk-rock and drugs provided a way to escape. Cobain, who was totally self-contained didn’t seem to have seen death as the last solution for the pain and the depression that haunted his youth. Although it was very well known that Cobain was a man with problems, many people find it hard to believe that he would put an end to his days. Even though theories of his death are widespread, his compact disks continue to sell.

The common thread of these conspiracy assumptions is that, despite his poor physical condition (illustrated by the fact that he was on the brink of death after an overdose of heroin taken one month before, in a hotel in Rome) Cobain had started to put his life in order and began thinking of some positive changes. These are well known facts. More than likely the divorce from the rock star Courtney Love and a real battle for custody of their daughter were not exactly easy. Cobain though was not a coward by any means. He had proven in the past and he was a man that build his road on his own to the world’s recognition. Many of those who studied his case believe that sinister forces had worked in Seattle to lead him to this premature end. All these questions have naturally given birth to some disturbing questions related to the alleged suicide and the death of Kurt Cobain.

On Easter day, Sunday April 3rd 1994, Courtney Love called Tom Grant from California. The day before, Cobain climbed on the wall of the Exodus detox clinic and went back by plane to Seattle. Although her husband intended to kill himself and had one month prior almost died from an overdose, Love decided not to personally go to Seattle. Instead, she assigned Grant to find Cobain with a striking and enigmatic expression: “Save the American idol, Tom!” Grant looked for Cobain at the villa in Seattle on April 7, at 2.45 AM and again at 9.45 PM. He didn’t find the body that lay hidden in the greenhouse above the garage though. Eventually, it was discovered the next day, Kurt Cobain was dead.

Tom Grant, the one that Love had paid for seven months to investigate Kurt Cobain death, is one of the many who think Cobain must have been killed by someone close to him. Because the killer and other conspirators must have enjoyed his confidence and could easily get to him, many theorists believe that this indicates a family member, a close friend or an employee. Rumors say that the rock star thought more about leaving the music industry rather than leave this world. Cobain dead is worth much more in terms of records sales than he ever was alive. Theorist says that an idol that is no longer interested in a musical career is a motive. It is well known that the heads of the record companies also have such a moral sense that any bum seems to be an honest member of the community. With millions of dollars being made in the music game, the Kurt Cobain death could be considered more like a Cobain retirement.

At the crime scene was a lot of evidence that raises questions regarding the possibility that Kurt Cobain didn’t commit suicide. One of his credit cards was missing and someone tried to use it before his body was discovered and also after the autopsy investigations were published. There weren’t any fingerprints nor was there any gun powder on the gun, which suggests that it had been wiped clean. Cobain’s body was also found with an extremely high level of heroin, which means that it would be pretty hard for him to pull the trigger. The “suicidal” note was in fact one where he explained why he left the music industry. Many graph logical experts think that someone else, and not Cobain had added the last four rows in the letter about his wife and his daughter.

A summary of the assassination of Martin Luther King
One of the most tragic and controversial events in Memphis history took place on April 4, 1968. That evening, on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel, civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. King had come to Memphis in support of sanitation workers that were on strike due to poor working conditions and inadequate pay. While in town during this visit, he made his now famous, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech at the Mason Temple in southwest Memphis. In retrospect, his words were eerily foretelling:
"And then I got to Memphis. And some began to say the threats, or talk about the threats that were out. What would happen to me from some of our sick white brothers? Well, I don’t know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t matter with me now. Because I’ve been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will."
The next day, King and his lawyers spent a great deal of time in court. They were fighting an injunction barring King from leading a protest march. Though the issue was unresolved by the end of the day, King was reportedly looking forward to a dinner at the home of friends in the area. From there, the civil rights leader was scheduled to attend a meeting.
It was about 6:00 p.m. when King went out onto the balcony at the Lorraine Motel to chat with Reverend Jesse Jackson and musician Ben Branch who were in the parking lot below. After talking for a moment, King straightened up from the balcony and turned to go into his motel room. He never made it inside. A shot was fired from across the parking lot, striking the man in his right cheek, shattering his jaw, and then entering his spine. Though King was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital nearby, he was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. He was only thirty-nine years old and left behind a wife and four children.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, attention was focused on a boardinghouse located across the parking lot from the Lorraine Motel. A preliminary investigation uncovered a hunting rifle that was equipped with a scope and a potential suspect. The suspect was a roomer at the boardinghouse who had been seen fleeing down the stairs seconds after the fatal gunshot was fired. He was initially identified as John Willard. When Willard’s white Ford Mustang was discovered in Atlanta days later, fingerprints found in the car matched those found on the rifle used in the assassination. Both sets of fingerprints belonged to an escaped convict named James Earl Ray. Ray had been using multiple aliases, including John Willard.
The authorities finally tracked Ray down in London. He was quickly extradited to Memphis and placed under constant watch in a special cell in the Shelby County jail. This ensured that Ray did not escape, and it also kept him safe from harm before his case went to trial.
At his attorney’s urging, Ray initially pled guilty to the shooting but maintained that the assassination was part of a large conspiracy. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison. Just days later, however, Ray recanted his confession and attempted to revoke his guilty plea, claiming that he had been coerced by his attorney. He took this claim all the way to the United States Supreme Court but was never granted a new trial.
Over the years, a number of conspiracy theories have emerged blaming everyone from the mafia to the U.S. government for the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Officially and legally, however, justice has been served. James Earl Ray died in prison in 1998.
